Reservation procedure:

All reservations must be received in writing via e-mail. Once a booking confirmation has been sent back to the agent in writing it is considered to be confirmed and cancellation terms and conditions apply. Full payment is due 30 days prior to arrival.

Any special dietary requirements are to be sent to our reservations department at least 30 days prior to arrival date. Failure to do so might mean that we are not able to fulfil requests.

All Mobile Safaris bookings can only be held on a provisional basis for 10 days, after which the campsites holding the booking will automatically release the space unless confirmed. Upon confirmation a 20% deposit is required immediately to secure the campsite space.

Payment policy:

Once reservations are confirmed in writing, payment is made and monies are received in accordance with the following schedule:  Full payment 30 days prior to arrival.

The only exception to the above is for all Mobile Safaris bookings where a 20% deposit is required immediately upon booking confirmation to secure the campsite space.

All reservations:

• All bookings are held as provisional until we receive confirmation in writing.
• Bookings due to travel within 3 months of the booking date, will be held on a provisional basis for 2 weeks. Should we not receive written confirmation within 14 days of booking, you will be contacted to either confirm or release the booking.
• Bookings due to travel more than 3 months from booking date will be held on a provisional basis for 30 days.
• Should we not receive written confirmation within 30 days of booking, you will be contacted to either confirm or release the booking.
• If another booking is received: you will be informed in writing to secure your reservations with a written confirmation within 3 working days. Failure to revert back to us within 3 working days will result in an automatic cancellation of the entire reservation.

Waitlist:

We are able to waitlist bookings at the camps and lodges on the reservations system – such requests should be sent to us via e-mail. Should the space clear, you will be notified in writing and the standard booking procedures will apply.

Individual (FIT) reservations:

An individual (FIT) reservation is classified as any booking comprising 1 to 5 guests.

Cancellation policy for individual travellers:

Every effort will be made by Footsteps in Africa to resell any cancelled rooms. Should we resell cancelled rooms we will reassess the cancellation charges.

If another booking is received; you will be informed in writing to secure your reservation with a written confirmation within 3 working days. Failure to revert back to us within the 3 working days will result in an automatic cancellation of the entire reservation.

Group reservations:

A group booking is classified as any booking of 6 or more guests per night.

If another GROUP booking is received; you will be informed in writing to secure your reservation with a written confirmation within 3 working days. Failure to revert back to us within the 3 working days will result in an automatic cancellation of the entire reservation.

All guests travelling must be covered by their own fully comprehensive travel and medical insurance policy valid from the date that they confirm the booking with us.

Children policy:

Children are welcome at all lodges.

• Deception Valley Lodge welcome children of all ages. They have two family suites and private game vehicle which must be booked for children under the age of 11 years.
• Camp Linyanti and Camp Savuti require private vehicles to be booked for all bookings with children under the age of 11 years.
• Oddballs' Camp and Delta Camp offer family units and welcome children from birth. Oddballs’ Enclave does not offer a family tent, although the tents are very close together and they take children of all ages as well.
